New York Chiropractor, DRX 9000 Manhattan
Hope everyone has a Happy and healthy New Year.
The last few emails I received has to do with the effectiveness of the table DRX 9000 in comparision to the other tables on the market, I do not know of any double blinded study that was conducted comparing each table, but from a practioners point of view, I like the way the DRX 9000 is made and its ease of use and comfort to the patient.
If someone in New York has a herniated disc and is seeking Non Surgical Spinal decompression, I highly recommend that they visit or visit my website
If you are suffering with Chronic Low Back pain or Sciatica or if you have had a back surgery and you are not satisfied with the results I highly recommend you see a doctor that specializes in Spinal Decompression.
I offfer Spinal Decompression using the DRX 9000 and 3D active trac in my New York City office and I see awesome results, just the other day a patient completed treatment and brought me in a nice present and gave me the most genuine thank you, that made me feel great because this guy almost had a back surgery and now he is back at work and enjoying life without having a surgery!

New York City Chiropractor uses the exclusive DRX 9000
I just got back from a great trip I highly recommend a vacation.
back to the topic at hand, Spinal Decompression for herniated discs.
I had a woman from California call me with a million questions, Please if anyone ha questions about the procedure email me at
Her question was Do I guarantee treatment will work for her?
I never met her nor did I conduct a thorough exam or review her MRI.
When someone consults with me I want to be sure that they qualify for the procedure and meet the criteria to obtain a favorable outcome, I give patients my word that once I accept them as patients I will go out of my way and exhaust all Non Surgical methods to ensure success.
But I do not give money back, I don't know of any ethical doctors that do, If your doctor tells you he will refund you money of you are not happy get it it writing and have an attorney look at it.
Also I have been getting emails how much I charge and why the insurance companies don't pay for it.
I charge $3,5000 for a full treatment tht includes 20-24 visits on the DRX 9000 and all core strengthing excercise and supportive orthopedic devices. I have seen doctors that charge $7,000 to $8,000 I am raising my fee to $4,000 for the entire treatment as of january 1 07. I still believe this is extremely competitive for Spinal Decompression treatment in New York City
Insurance companies are slowly starting to pay for this service but on a limitied basis, I have seen some Workers Comp cases pay and maybe one or two Insurance like Cigna but it really depends and most times patients are paying the majority of cost.

New York Chiropractor, DRX 9000 Manhattan
Every week I have patients come to my office with these Cheesey looking "FREE REPORTS" that are DRX 9000 ads that Chiropractors put in the local papers. I practice in Manhattan, I use the DRX 9000 but I never used this cheesy method to bring in patients. This is not an attack on the Doctor that uses this method but this is my blog and my opinion that we as a proffesion should uses more ethical methods of informing patients about the benefits of Spinal Decompression.
NASA did not discover this! Enough already if you have a herniated disc find a Doctor that uses Spinal Decompression it works great!
If you are Chiropractor and put all your faith in Ben Altadonna free reports based on a NASA discovery it is time to give patients the facts about spinal decompression.
the fact is that is a great Non Surgical technique for Chronic Back, and herniated disc pain but is not a panacea or a magic cure for everyone.

New York Chiropractor, Spinal Decompression
I had a couple new emails I wanted to answer.

First question was What is the Vax-D table and is it more comfortable than DRX 9000?
The Vax-D table uses technology that is about 20 years old, and it requires the patient to use arms to hold their upper body to prevent slipping. this is ok if you have the upper body strength and do not have any shoulder problems, but most patients are deconditioned and lots of people have shoulder problems.
I prefer to use the DRX 9000 spinal decompression table in my Manhattan office.
It uses the most technologically advanced closed loop system to ensure safe and effective decompression and it has a harness system that allow the patients to have their hands free and not have to hold on for dear life.
In my New York City office I prefer to use the DRX 9000 for several reasons.
Please visit my website at
I you are considering getting Vax-D treatment look into DRX 9000 treatment in my opinion you get a more comfortable expierence and better results.

DRX 9000 in use.
I am posting some answers from various questions i recieved below.
Is DRX 9000, spinal decompression treatment safe?
Yes it is very safe very slim chance of injury if patient is screened properly and patient mantains control the whole time.

Whats the deal with NASA and the astronauts?
I get this question emailed to me at least twice a week from Chiro's and consumers alike.
The bottom line is NASA never endorsed any product nor did they design it and astronauts never used it, although I have treated some space cadets (joke!)

I never like the ads that mentioned this before.

Whats up with 86%?
There was a study called the gionasis study that showed that 86% of test subjects showed improvement the study can be found at

I use the DRX 9000 everyday and see some fantastic results but I inform my patients that is not a panacea and I don't make outragous claims and deceive patients into thinking this is a NASA discovery, this is misleading.

New York DRX 9000
DRX 9000 for treatment of herniated discs and bulging discs,Sciatica and Chronic low back pain.
I recieved a call today from a potential patient in Florida today, I told him it is better to see someone locally that to come see me, The machine works in Florida too! He insisted that he wanted to see me.
IF you are suffering Chronic back pain or where recently diagnosed with a herniated disc before you consider an invasive procedure like back surgery, look into Non Surgical Spinal decompression using the DRX 9000
I believe that any Chiropractor or Medical doctor that follows a proper Spinal Decompression protocol that includes Spinal Decompression treatment, with bracing, Core Stregthening and nutritional support should see excellent results.
I recentlly developed a national directory that can connect potential patients with Spinal Decompression specialists
This portal is national and will help connect patients suffering with Back pain to a specialist it there area.
As always if you are in New York City,Manhattan and looking for a DRX 9000 Specialist visit my site at

New York City Chiropractor uses the exclusive DRX 9000
I look forward to a Busy Monday morning treating patients with Herniated discs.
Many of my patients that decide to treat using the DRX 9000 have been everwhere.
Most of my patients have had Physical therapy, Pain management, Lidoderm patchs, Failed Back surgery, and some have even tried hypnosis.
The reason so many patients have problem with the disc is the fact that the disc is avascualar(no or diminished blod supply) and once it is injured it doesn't quite heal that easily.
Spinal Decompression is not just a table but a carefully planned reigm of Spinal decompression treatment ( I use the DRX 9000
Orthopedic Bracing, and Core Strengthing Excercise.
When this combination is utulized corectlly back pain stops in its track!
If you are in Metro Manhattan and are considering Spinal Decompression my first recommendation is to find a doctor that is close to you ( you will be going in 4 times a week) and Nutrition support like Omega Fatty acid should be taken daily.
As a general recommendation I urge patients to drink One glass of water for every hour they are awake.
The first stage of disc hernation is called Disc Dessication(look at your MRI report)
Disc Dessication is break down of the annular fibers due to dehydration.
Drink more Water and quit smoking

Are all Spinal Decompression machines? Is one better than the other?
I get this question all the time from others Doctors about to buy a table and potential patients that are shopping around.
My opinion is that you get exactly what you pay for, I have two systems in my office one is the 3D active trac table that offers both cervical and lumbar decompression and the DRX 9000.
Once a patient goes on the DRX 9000 they do not want to get on the 3D active trac, do they do the same thing clinically, yes!
But Decompression on the DRX 9000 is more comfortable most patients are sleeping 10 minutes into the treatment.
If are considering treatment on other tables like the DTS system do your self a favor and at least visit a office that offers the DRX 9000 table and see and feel the diffrence.
I don't ewant to bash other tables but this is my Blog and I want to be honest, I prefer treating with the best equipment on the market.
It is like a car actually,
You can buy a honda or a geo or buy a mercedes and travel in style!
I prefer to travel in luxury I go with the mercedes.
New York Spinal Decompression

What is the Price Diffrences in tables?
A DTS system costs about 8 K and a DRX 9000 costs about 95K.
When a patient has to shell out money they want to be assured that it is the best equipment on the market.
I charge 3,500 for treatment on the DRX 9000, I have peers that charge 4K and some that charge 5 K!
I am offering a December Special because on January 1 prices go up, from $3,500 to $ 4,000.
Lock into this years price for next year with a $100 deposit.

I had an exciting day yesterday I had two patients that had "breakthroughs"
One patient that walked with a cane for the last three years due to a severly herniated disc came in without his cane! He told me he forgot that he needed a cane for the first time since his injury.
The second was a women that walks with a foot drop, after only 8 visits on the DRX 9000 she started to get some dorsiflexion back in her foot and her reflex started to improve!
I have to say that now I understand all the hype behind the DRX 9000 and the results are fantastic.

There was a recent article in the New York Times that was about treatment for herniated disc treatment involving surgery.
The study qoutoed was taken a recent Medical study that showed that patients that sufferes with sciatica that had surgery didn't do any better than those that did not have surgery.
I have always said that it best to go non invasive first and exhaust all your efforts before you go under the knife.
In my practice I utulize a Non Surgical technique to treat Herniated discs and Sciaitica. Non Surgical Spinal Decompression is much safer than surgery and the studies done are showing a much higher success rate.
If you have a herniated disc or are suffering with Chronic back pain and live in New York please consider a complimentary exam to see if Spinal Decompression can help you. I use the DRX 9000 machine to treat Disc Herniations.

I am sure by now anyone that is in the market for Spinal decompression treatment or someone with a herniated disc has gotten a "free report" these are usually ran in local papers. In my opinion they are low class and very cheesy!
I practice in Manhattan and patients are sophisticated and classy. When they get the 5 pages free report it is insulting their intelligence!
Below I am attaching a recent press release by the Oregon State board of examiners.
I am glad that I never used the free report or ever told patients that NASA invented this technique! Doctors that utulize this technique are going to feel the pain from the state boards.
DRX 9000 is a exellent decompression machine the results are fantastic, but it was NOT invented by NASA and it is not endorsed by them.

Chiropractic Board Questions
"NASA Medical Breakthrough" Advertising Claims

The Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners (OBCE) is questioning "NASA Medical
Breakthrough" advertising claims promoting use of spinal decompression devices and requesting
information,* A typical claim is that an "Accidental Discovery by NASA m Outer Space Quickly
and Easily Solves 86% of Back Pain.., Astronauts that left with back pain would come back
•without it. So NASA did what they are good at...they investigated this new phenomenon."
Another version reads as followss

"NASA was the first to investigate the effects of spinal decompression on vertebral discs,
NASA found during the anti-gravity state of the space travel mission, astronauts were
relieved of back pain, NASA found disc height was increased during a space mission.
Scientists started looking at "decompression" as a way to help chronic back pain
sufferers and the results were overwhelmingly positive in many patients. "

Information obtained by the OBCE casts doubt on the validity of these advertising
claims. One study published m Psychosomatic Medicine in 2001 states, "Back Pain is one of the
most frequently occurring medical problems during space flight It has been reported by 68% of
astronauts."1 Another 2001 article in the same journal states, "astronauts grow taller in space,
and stretching of the spinal nerve roots can lead to back pain,"2 A 2004 article in Aviation Space
Environmental Medicine states, "Lengthening of the vertebral column and associated lumbar
back pain experienced by astronauts is common in microgravity,"3 A paper titled "Advanced
Trauma Life Support for the Injured Astronaut" states. "... back pain is common upon return to
gravity and may confound physical examination of a possible spine injury,"4

The OBCE notes that nowhere in the various "Free Reports" that are provided by some
chiropractors using this marketing plan is there documentation of any NASA studies or reports.
The Board has written to Axiom Worldwide Inc. in Tampa Florida, vendor of the DRX 9000
device, asking for information which supports these claims. Axiom packages the "Free Report"
marketing plan along with their units. Axiom has not responded to this request.

The OBCE has also asked Western States Chiropractic College and the Foundation for
Chiropractic Research and Education if there is any support for these claims. The QBCE is
requesting anv information either supportive or non-supportive as regards any "NASA Medical
Breakthrough" and spinal decompression.

Oregon law states chiropractors may not "use any advertising making untruthful,
improper, misleading or deceptive statements," (ORS 684.100 (l)(j)) The OBCE's policy is that
advertising statements must be supported by credible eviden.ce which must be available for
review upon request.

Previously the OBCE has informed chiropractors that the 86% success rate claim violates
the administrative rule which prohibits any advertising which "contains statistical or other
assertions of predicted rates of success of treatment,,." (OAR 811 -015-0045)

According to OBCE Executive Director Dave McTeague, "The Board is concerned about
high pressure marketing to potential patients using questionable claims.
The typical treatment protocol calls for twenty treatments over a six-week course of therapy.5
Add to that the financial pressures of purchasing a DRX 9000 type device (upwards of 65,000 to
$125,000, Used 2005 model on Ebay for $65,000) and there may be other motives for the
treatment program than optimal patient care."6

State chiropractic board warns of questionable ads for device

Saturday, November 18, 2006
The Oregonian

The Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners Is cracking down on ads that tout a spinal traction device as a
"NASA medical breakthrough," with seemingly no evidence to back that claim.

Chiropractors nationwide have been advertising the DRX 9000 device as a back-pain treatment that is
derived from space research and is 86 percent successful. In Oregon, between six and 12 chiropractors
have run these ads, estimated Dave MeTeague, the board's executive director.

The board issued a warning Friday saying it could find no NASA studies or reports about this device or a
similar one. In fact, several studies show that the low gravity in space lengthens astronauts' spines and
causes back pain. Board rules also prohibit advertising success rates.

"The board is concerned about high-pressure marketing to potential patients using questionable claims,"
the warning said,

McTeague said the warning covers only advertising. The board has not taken an official opinion on the
treatment itself.

New York Chiropractor, Spinal Decompression
This week has been trully amazing. I had two patients that had chronic back pain for over ten years. One patient has such bad back pain that she ate 3 oxycotin a day! Those are serious pain pills.Amazingly after the first sesion on the DRX 9000 she stood up and almost started to cry it was that much better.
The pain did come back later that day but we know that if she follows the course of treatment prescibed to her that she will be permantley pain free.
Both of these patients that had severely herniated disc at the L5-S1 which caused impingment on the S1 nerve root.
In the future I hope to post pre and post MRi results with my patients on this blog, with their permission of course (and names protected).

New York Chiropractor, DRX 9000

The DRX9000™ is a brand new, effective and revolutionary spinal decompression treatment. It was developed by a team of top doctors and medical engineers and promises to effectively treat back pain caused by herniated or degenerative discs. Dr. Steven Shoshany of Downing Chiropractic ( exclusively offers the treatment to New York City back pain sufferers.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 14, 2006 -- While back pain is among the most common complaints in medicine today, finding a reliable non-invasive treatment has proven elusive. That's why Dr. Steven Shoshany, a Manhattan based Doctor specializing in Spinal Decompression, is proud to introduce DRX9000™. This breakthrough technology is the non-invasive treatment for compressed or degenerative discs that pain sufferers have been waiting for.

Many people who suffer from chronic back pain, try several prescribed remedies to help ease their discomfort -- frequent bed rest, high doses of pain medication, perhaps even non-traditional approaches such as acupuncture. Even surgery can be at best a temporary solution. Many simply expect to live with pain.

However with the DRX9000, pain is no longer inevitable. The result of collaboration between a team of top physicians and medical engineers, the treatment is a major advancement in effectively treating low back pain resulting from herniated or degenerative discs. The DRX9000 not only significantly reduces back pain in 86% of patients, but enables the majority of patients to return to more active lifestyles.

"After only three weeks of treatment, clinical studies have shown outstanding results in relieving the debilitating pain caused by bulging, herniated, degenerative, or ruptured discs, as well as sciatica, posterior facet syndrome, and many failed back surgery cases," said Dr. Shoshany. "Pre-and post-treatment MRIs have shown greater than 50% reduction in the size and extent of herniations after four weeks of treatments with the DRX9000. In fact, during the initial clinical study more than 86% of patients report relief of back pain with the DRX9000."

DRX9000 can help patients with:
• Herniated and bulging lumbar discs with or without complications
• Degenerative disc disease
• A relapse or failure following surgery, even with multiple levels of herniation
• Facet Syndrome

"The DRX9000 was created to effectively treat these conditions to help patients live a pain-free life," said Dr. Shoshany.

About the DRX9000
DRX9000 uses state-of-the-art technology to gradually relieve neural compression often associated with lower back pain. Treatment has been proven to relieve pain by enlarging disc space, helping ease herniated discs back into place, and reversing high intradiscal pressure.

"Your DRX9000 treatment begins with a series of daily sessions for two weeks, followed by treatments three times a week as needed," said Dr. Shoshany. "Each session consists of 30 –45 minutes on the DRX9000. Following each therapy session, a cold pack is applied to help paravertebral muscles consolidate after treatment. We also prescribe an exercise and nutrition supplement regimen to help stabilize the weakened areas."

The key to DRX9000 treatments is the patented electomechanical system, which allows doctors to target treatment to the injured area.

The upper body harness ensures support is distributed evenly during treatment. Once the harness is in place, patients are slowly reclined to a horizontal position. Following the physician's orders, the therapist localizes the pain and directs the treatment to the proper area. DRX9000™ helps to mobilize the troubled disc segment without inducing further damage to the spine.

For a no charge consultation to discuss this therapy and the opportunity to view the DRX9000 up close, call Dr. Shoshany's DRX hot line at (212)-645-8151 or visit him online at

This Non Surgical Spinal Decompression market has really blown up in the Tri State area.
There are about 10 -15 doctors now offering spinal decompression in New York City are alone.
I use the exclusive DRX 9000 and I believe that sets me apart from other doctors using inferior tables.
If was shopping for Spinal decompression in Manhattan I would only want the best, The DRX 9000 Spinal Decompression machine.

I wanted to repost an article i though was very helpful to understand spinal decompression as an industry today.

Insurers back off
A popular machine to relieve back pain has the support of some doctors and patients, but not Medicare and the insurance industry.By KRIS HUNDLEY, Times Staff WriterPublished July 17, 2006
[Times photos: Melissa Lyttle]
An old football injury that was reinjured when lifting heavy furniture sent Edgar Guzman looking for a nonsurgical way to relieve the pain. He spent his lunch hours on the spinal decompression machine in Dr. Luis Crespo's office.
Dr. Luis Crespo demonstrates how the spinal decompression machine works with a model of a vertebra.
Over the past five years, three medical device companies with ties to the Tampa Bay area have been in fierce competition for a multimillion dollar market: people with lower back pain.
The companies manufacture high-priced, high-tech traction tables that they promote to doctors and chiropractors as a nonsurgical alternative for patients with herniated discs and other chronic back ailments.
Sales are strong despite one major obstacle: Medicare and many major insurers refuse to reimburse for the expensive treatment, known as vertebral axial decompression or spinal decompression.
There may be good reason for the disconnect. Customers and manufacturers' employees have claimed the device-makers deliberately mislead doctors to think the treatment is reimbursable, even suggesting inappropriate procedure codes to use when billing insurers.
The manufacturers - Vax-D Technologies LLC in Oldsmar, Axiom Worldwide in Tampa and North American Medical Corp. in Atlanta - have denied the charges and say insurance matters are the doctors' responsibility, not theirs.
Regardless of who is responsible, big bucks are at stake. The tables, which look like medieval racks with computerized consoles, sell for $65,000 to $125,000. The manufacturers recommend patients receive 16 to 20 sessions, with reimbursements estimated at between $185 and $300 per session.
An industry newsletter, the Anesthesia & Pain Coder's Pink Sheet, investigated the spinal decompression industry in its December issue after getting a coding inquiry from a subscriber. The Rockville, Md. publication, which writes about medical billing and coding issues in the pain management field, conducted an anonymous survey of subscribers who owned or had owned decompression tables. Three-quarters of the practices that responded said they were given advice on how to bill Medicare when they bought the tables, despite the fact Medicare does not reimburse for treatments on the table.
Based on survey responses, the publication estimated that erroneous claims to Medicare and private insurers for spinal decompression could amount to more than $67-million annually.
As spinal decompression becomes more popular - the Coder's Pink Sheet estimated 1,000 machines are in use - there are indications that insurers and federal investigators are beginning to take a closer look. In the past year:
- Two brothers, chiropractors in Georgia, were sentenced to 34 months in jail after pleading guilty to defrauding Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia of more than $1-million for treatments on the Vax-D device.
- A doctor in Indiana had to repay Medicare about $75,000 for wrongly billed procedures on an Accu-Spina table made by North American Medical.
- And an osteopathic surgeon in Pennsylvania was dunned by several insurers for repayment after he had billed them incorrectly for treatment on Axiom's DRX9000.
"When I bought the machine, I was assured all insurance companies paid for it," said Dr. Bernie Zeliger of Harrisburg, who bought the Axiom table in January 2005. "But when I submitted the first bill, I found out in a hurry that they didn't."
Axiom said it does not give billing advice, but refers customers to an unaffiliated company with such expertise.

The man who is widely credited with starting the spinal decompression business is Vax-D's founder, Allan Dyer, a Canadian doctor who moved his company to Pinellas County in 1994. Dyer, who served two years as a deputy minister of health in Ontario, is described in company materials as an inveterate tinkerer who experimented with early models of a heart defibrillator on dogs. When back pain put Dyer in a wheelchair, he and his wife, Natalie, began creating a computerized version of the mechanical traction table.
Dr. Lawrence Dyer, Vax-D's vice president and an oral surgeon, said after six years of research his parents had developed a table, "which, remarkably, could reverse the chronic pain and symptoms of herniated discs and degenerative disc disease."
The Vax-D device calls for the patient to lay face-down on a divided padded table, harnessed at the shoulders and hips, while the table slowly separates, then retracts. The company claims the treatment has proven to be "88 percent effective" in treating low back pain. The company sold its first table in 1990 and says more than 400 are in use.
Vax-D's success spawned competitors. Nicholas Exarhos, a chiropractor who once sold Vax-D machines, joined Cluster Technologies, a Sarasota company that made a similar device, in 1995.
Exarhos and James J. Gibson, an accountant who was Cluster's president, left in 2000 and formed Axiom in Tampa. Axiom sold its first machine in 2001.
Carlos Becerra replaced Gibson at Cluster. Becerra is a Colombian immigrant and entrepreneur who refueled planes at New York's Kennedy airport when he arrived in the United States in the 1970s.
By September 2000, Cluster had filed to reorganize under Chapter 11; in February 2005, the company filed for Chapter 7 liquidation. By then, Becerra had formed North American Medical, which began sales in 2001.
Becerra, with other Cluster executives and North American Medical, were sued in June by the trustee for Cluster's bankruptcy, alleging the group stole the company's spinal decompression technology for the new company. Becerra, who did not respond to a request for an interview, has in proceedings denied such charges.
Today, Axiom, North American Medical and Vax-D are among a handful of players in the highly competitive spinal decompression business. Though many of the executives are former colleagues, they battle bare-knuckles for market share, in doctors' offices and in a raft of lawsuits claiming everything from patent infringement to corporate espionage to employee poaching. In one case that was recently dropped, Axiom sued a Denver chiropractor who canceled his order before delivery.
All three companies declined in-person interviews for this story and replied only to written questions.
Steve Brown, chief executive of DVAD USA in Carlsbad, Calif., which sells Vax-D machines, has been in the medical device business for years, but is surprised by the intensity of his competitors.
"I've never seen anything as Machiavellian as the decompression industry," he said.

Though their machines differ slightly, each manufacturer promises one thing: nonsurgical and long-lasting relief from most forms of back pain.
Dr. Luis Crespo, a Tampa doctor who advertises his Axiom machine on TV commercials and in high-end magazines, said that after three and a half years of using the device on patients, he has had a 96 percent success rate.
"Since I started this practice in 1996, I've dealt with a lot of spine injuries," said Crespo, who was emergency medical director at Memorial and Town and Country hospitals before entering private practice. "And till now, surgery was often the only thing available."
During an interview, Crespo used a model of the spine with a rubber disc wedged between plastic vertebrae to illustrate how decompression works. A herniated disc, he said, is like a jelly doughnut with the jelly squirting out.
"The Axiom machine gently pulls the vertebrae apart and allows the jelly to go back in," said Crespo, who recommends the procedure for patients with degenerative disease, sciatica or posterior facet syndrome. Patients who are pregnant or who have had screws or rods previously inserted in their spines are not appropriate for the treatment.
Crespo said about 10 percent of his patients undergo spinal decompression, which is administered in 20 treatments, each about an hour long, over 5 weeks. Crespo recommends that patients follow decompression with six to eight weeks of strengthening exercises at his office.
"Anyone who undergoes decompression has to undergo core strengthening," he said. "Or it is all for naught."
Despite Crespo's enthusiasm and reams of scientific-looking reports supporting the procedure on the manufacturers' Web sites, Medicare and most major insurers remain unconvinced of its effectiveness.
A spokesman for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida said the state's largest insurer decided to deny coverage "after extensive study and consideration of the effectiveness of the procedure." Similar responses came from Aetna, Humana, Cigna HealthCare and UnitedHealthcare.
Medicare's policy is clear: "There is insufficient scientific data to support the benefits of this technique."
Dr. Joel Press, president of the North American Spine Society, which represents spine specialists from a variety of fields, said his group is preparing a position paper on spinal decompression.
"People are asking if there is any benefit (to decompression) at all because the science is pretty thin," said Press, who is medical director of the Spine and Sports Rehab Center at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. "A lot of patients are coming back, saying there's not a lot of change in their symptoms for a lot of money."
Proponents of spinal decompression often suggest that surgeons dismiss the less invasive procedure in order to protect their higher-paying specialty. But Press, whose group is about 50 percent spine surgeons, with the rest representing other medical specialties, said his members will judge decompression strictly on the science.
"If there is truly something beneficial to the patient, you should be able to do good quality research on it," he said. "And you want something that is truly randomized, not 50 people in a row saying they did great. But it is very difficult to have a simple solution to a complex problem like chronic back pain."

While scientists study the treatments and insurers chase doctors who bill for the procedure, one manufacturer is focusing on cash-paying customers.
During daylong seminars at its Tampa headquarters, Axiom executives and consultant Dr. Ben Altadonna tell chiropractors from across the country that spinal decompression is the road to riches.
In a workshop called "How to make an additional $35,000-$50,000 per month, Cash!!" Altadonna presents success lessons from Harry Houdini and testimonials from satisfied customers like one doctor, quoted in marketing materials as saying "I collected $22,000 JUST TODAY!!!! This is some wild ride Ben Altadonna, thanks for inviting me."
Dr. Eric Liners, a chiropractor in Salinas, Calif., attended one of Altadonna's seminars at Axiom's office in late February 2005 with about 40 chiropractors. In a lawsuit filed against Axiom and its finance company in March, Liners said Altadonna projected that his practice's profit could increase to $1.76-million over five years with an Axiom machine.
According to the complaint, which was filed in U.S. District Court in eastern Pennsylvania, at the end of the seminar Liners agreed to buy a machine for $125,000. However, the chiropractor claimed the device repeatedly malfunctioned and "physically molested Liners Chiropractic's patients."
"Virtually all of the patients placed in treatment showed no objective signs of favorable response," the lawsuit said, adding, "Axiom's financial projections ... proved grossly misleading."
After four months, Axiom removed the machine from Liners' practice; the lawsuit erupted after the leasing company sued the chiropractor for failing to continue making payments. Liners voluntarily dismissed his claim against Axiom shortly after it was filed and in April the remaining parties reached a confidential settlement.
In a written statement, Axiom's attorney, L. Joseph Shaheen, Jr., said the company "has asserted that Liners' claims were untrue and frivolous."
Crespo, the Tampa doctor, said marketing spinal decompression as a money-maker is a mistake.
"If you're buying the machine to try to make a huge bang on it, you can't do it," he said. "You'll end up decompressing a lot of patients out there who do not need it."
A longtime critic of the insurance industry, Crespo said he does not participate in Medicare nor does he belong to insurance networks, though he is an out-of-network provider for PPOs.
Though he said Axiom told his office to use a billing code that applies to physical therapy when billing insurers for decompression, Crespo said most of his patients pay out of pocket. Axiom said it does not give billing advice and most of its doctors charge on a cash basis.
Crespo's fee for decompression with core strengthening is $8,000.
"My patients are glad to pay cash," said Crespo, who recently moved to new offices in the Westshore area and was considering adding a second Axiom machine. "We take checks and credit cards."
In interviews, three of Crespo's patients said they were happy with the results of decompression, saying it had significantly reduced their pain and discomfort.
But only one patient paid cash and that individual was uninsured. One of the others, Edgar J. Guzman, is a personal injury lawyer in Tampa who was treated by Crespo in March. Guzman said he had about 18 sessions but was unable to complete the treatments or do strength training because of lack of time.
"Thank god, it really worked out," said Guzman, who had a herniated disc. "More than anything it provided more flexibility and stretched out the muscle that was tight there."
Nor was cost an issue. Despite the fact that his carrier has a policy against reimbursing for spinal decompression, Guzman didn't get a bill.
"My insurance covered it," said Guzman, who did not want his carrier identified.

New York Chiropractor, DRX 9000 Manhattan
Spinal Decompression using the DRX 9000 has really transformed my New York City office.
Patients that normally would be reffered to pain management or surgeons are now benefiting from Non Surgical Spinal decompression. If you have a herniated disc I highly recommend this treatment.

The DRX 9000 spinal decompression unit is now in Downtown Manhattan!
More and more patients are asking about the DRX 9000 machine and I bit the bullet and made the investment into this machine, and let me tell you BIG diffrence.
The previous spinal decompression machine I used worked, but this new machine different is so many ways.
It kinda like comparing a Honda to a Mercedes! I am in Manhattan and patients expect the best.
So If you are in the market for spinal decompression treatment I highly recommend treatment on the DRX 9000 table!

I have been asked to compare the diffrences between the Vax-D and DRX 9000.
I use the DRX 9000 and I have worked with the Vax-D table but am partial to the DRX 9000 because I beleive it is more advanced and offers the patient more options and comfort.
The DRX 9000 allows the patient is very antalgic (severe pain and stopped) to go from standing to laying on there back automatically.
The DRX 9000 also is much more comfortable.
If you choosing between the two machines which I feel are the only true spinal decompression machines I recommend taking a "test drive" on both and choose the one that is more comfortable.
If you have a herniataed disc or sciatca I recommend first getting an MRI and then consult with a spinal decompression specialist in your area.
There are many different types of spinal decompression machines on the market today and many more to come since this market is expanding.
I prefer to stick to the leaders and prefer to use tables that have a clincial track record.
If you are in Manhattan or live near Manhattan and suffer with a herniated or bulging disc please consider a consult visit

New York Chiropractor, DRX 9000
I just got my delivery of my second Spinal Decompression unit.
For mty second table I got the DRX 9000 unit made by axiom worldwide. I may be the fourth DRX 9000 unit in Manhatttan. This thing is huge and I am blwon away by the size. Throughoutthe blog I was fairly critical of the unit but after having one installed abd seeing the insides You can't compare this unit to any other lumbar spinal decompression unit.
It's kinda of like a Rolex watch, sure a timex tells the time but a Rolex is a Rolex, it is time tested and has tremoundous brand awareness.
For the remainder of October I am offering Spinal Decompression on the exclusive DRX 9000 for $ 3,000 for the protocol the normal price is $3,500. Please mention Blogger when making appointment. Please call 212 645 8151 to schedule a consult or if you just want to see the DRX 9000 and compare it to others models out.

DRX 9000
I just ordered my second spinal decompression unit. I ordered the DRX 9000 unit. I believe I am one of only a few doctors in Manhattan that have this machine. the DRX 9000 is the top of the line spinal decompression machine, More doctors own a DRX 9000 than any other machine.
There are other units out on the market but the DRX 9000 is top of the line.
Will other units do the same thing? Can you compare the Lordex system to the DRX 9000?
I get these questions everyday from both Chiropractors and patients.
I like to use the analogy of a car, If you buy a geo prism it can get you from point A to B but if you have a Mercedes or a BMW it is a better ride and defintleyt more comfortable.
I have used most systems in my office and offices that I consult with and I can say that the DRX 9000 is by far the most comfortable and the most technologicallly advanced system out on the market today.

I just recently purchased a new Spinal Decompression machine. I bought the DRX 9000 Lumbar unit. This is the second Spinal Decompression Machine and I Expect delivery in the next week or two, navigating Downtown Manhattan will be a challenge for the driver.
My patients have seen excellent results with the current unit I use, but I decided on stepping up to the plate and buying the top off the line table and dealing with the best table out today.

I intend to help my patients with Pelvic floor weakness and Lower back pain.
I believe that I will bill the only doctor in Manhattan that will have this unit.
visit to learn more.
This machine will enhance the benifts of spinal decompression and allow more blood to return the disc before starting Spinal decompression treatment.
I anticipate this being a real postive addition to the practice.

Spinal Decompression in New York City has really taken off! I know of at least 7 doctors that offer this treatment in Manhattan right now.
Many of these doctors buy an overpriced table in hopes of making a fortune as promised to them by ads in the back of Chiropractic magazines.
This technique is highly effective for someone suffering with back pain or Disc herniation but it is not a panacea.
I have to be selective with the patients I choose, I only choose patients that I know will benifit from care. In my opinion just to put anyone on the table just to keep the table full is unethical.
This website has a wealth of information about non-surgical spinal decompression. I explore both the benifits and the risks,Albeit the risks are virtually non-exsistent. DRX 9000 is a commonly used table along with Accuspina and 3d active trac. All of these tables do the same exact thing, I really like to educate patients along with doctors not to fall for marketing gimicks claiming that their table was invented by NASA.
Manhattan is a competitive area and many new doctors are using spinal decompression to treat disc herniations but I still feel that if you practice with ethics that people will clearly pick me over a table. The magic is not in the name or the manufacture.
Spinal Decompression is gaining popularity and I want it t become the treatment of choice when it comes to treating back pain associated with Disc herniaton or spinal stenosis.

This has been really interesting , that is watching the spinal decompression market. I started doing Spinal decompression last year I guess before it was the hottest Non Surgical Disc treatment. The reason I got into this method is that I had several patients that had disc herniations that did not respond to my Chiropractic methods and I would refer them out to a neurosurgeon and usually they recommended surgery.
I investigated diffrent Spinal decompression tables, I did not want to get my information from the vendor because they want to sell tables.
I looked into the FDA website and I learned that all tables have the same exact FDA clearance and the FDA doesn't distinguish the difference between the tables. In fact the only table that can really claim that it is doing Spinal decompression is the Vax-D table it has a patent on the logirithmic curve and it is actively pursuing enforcing its patent.
It is ammusing that man of my colleuges are buying tables and automatically are in the game, but there is more to Non Surgical Spinal Decompression then buying a table. If a doctor doesnt use a rehab program along with the treatment it is an expensive program that usually doesnt stick.
Some times patients and doctors get so hung up on the table for instance ,the DRX 9000, they have done a great job in branding the table as a spinal decompression table but they bash any other table on the market and claim to be the best. Most of these claims are completely unproven and most table manufacutures steal other research studies. Is the DRx 900 a good tables? It sure is but it is not the only table and to say it is false.
I think it is like a caluculator company saying their calculator adds better than its competetor!
I use FDA approved tables along with Rehab program and I get excellent clincial results.
If there is any Doctor that is interested in conducting a study that I hope to get published please contact me.
If you are a patient in New York City and are seriously considering a visit to a doctor for Non Surgical Spinal decompression please fax me your MRI results at (603) 584 5825 I will give you an immediate second opinion.
Disc herniations, Disc bulges, Spinal disc degenerations and Sciatica all respond to Spinal Decompression treatment if your suffering from back pain consider Spinal decompression with a Spinal Decompression specialist in New York City.

I have been getting bombarded with questions from doctors across the country regarding spinal decompression tables and fee structures, if one more doctor call's me I am going to start charging consulting fee's.
The first questions is "What is the best spinal decompression table?"
Well the fact is the FDA approved over twelve tables to called spinal decompression and they do not differeniate the method from traction. Many table manufactures now claim that their table is endorsed by NASA and founded on NASA science, nothing can be farther from the truth. Many of this manufactures are now being investigated for false advertsing and some manufactures currently have the feds looking at them. I am not saying that Decompression doesnt work, I am saying that this incredible technique has allot of fluff surounding it and many doctors fall for the elaborate marketing scheme and the promise of making tons of money, just look at any Alltandona ads! We did not become Doctors to get rich, we became doctors to help the suffering.
Spinal decompression is an excellent treatment for herniated and bulging discs and has been shown to reduce nerve pressure and help to heal the disc.
All of the tables do this, Just Because the DRX says they are the only ones doing this along with the Vax-D just ask the FDA they will be the ones I trust not a table manufacturer.
I have been practicing spinal decompression techniques in Manhattan and I have seen many patients respond quickly and many patients satisfied with the treatment.
How much should I charge?
Well these tables are all expensive some in upwards of 125 k so case fees should be in the $3,500 and up range.
Why doesn't insurance cover the treatment?
Insurance companies do not pay for S9090 which is listed as vertebral axial decompression.
It is still considered investigational and experimental. They rather pay 50 Grand for a back surgery, go figure?
So in conclusion to answer your questions is the DRX 9000 a good table? yes it is I like the table and get good clinical results with it , but it is not the only table that does decompression and as a doctor or a patient looking at spinal decompression as a treatment choice do not get hung up on tables, I recommend chosing a doctor that offers a comprehensive treatment that includes back and core strength into the program, this is very important. Spinal decompression works and it can help patients suffering with Disc related issues. There are over 12 tables on the market and doctors are reporting results with all of these tables, In my opinion the rest is hype.

Did you know that Chiropractors have been fined a lot of money for making false advertising claims about the DRX?

Did you know that NASA’s actual research as conducted by the Ames research center has found that astronauts back pain actually increased in space?

Did you know that NASA is attempting to get Axiom to stop making fraudulent claims that NASA discovered the DRX ?

Why would you want to be treated on a machine that got FDA cleared as substantially similar to the original patented device called VAXD and then misleadingly pose themselves as a new discovery by NASA when NASA had nothing to do with the creation of this technology?

Why not be treated on a much newer system that offers more and was FDA cleared many years after the older DRX technology was cleared?

Why be a sucker for false advertising?

What you are saying is you want the latest and best technology to be used on your back to get rid of your back pain, right? What if I told you there was an even newer (By several years) piece of technology that could take your pain away with even more advances that works even faster and hasn’t been asked by NASA to quit using their name falsely?

Did you know the DRX was FDA cleared in 2001 and the ----------- was cleared in 2004 (or 5) offering significant advances over the older copycat DRX? Wouldn’t you want the newer technology instead of the older stuff?

Did you know that Doctors around the country are getting rid of their DRX units so they are not associated with all of their false ads? Spinal decompression therapy works, but it wasn’t discovered by NASA and the DRX is not the best machine out there. When you see how they work and how we work you will understand. When do you want to come in so we can get rid of that pain for you?

When you ask about the DRX are you asking because you want the latest technology to be used to get rid of your back pain? What if I told you that there was a machine three years newer then the DRX that was vastly superior in many ways?

Did you know that a racketeering case for false advertising has been filed against the maker of the DRX? Did you know there is a newer better machine that blows that machine away and it is right here in our office?

When you say you want the DRX you are really saying you want the logarithmic pull cycles that stretch the discs and bypass the body’s normal lockdown that usually prevents the stretch from getting to the discs. This is why chiropractic adjustments need to be given so quickly so they can bypass the body’s proprioceptive lockdown of muscles and ligaments. The DRX uses a slow ramp up of the stretch to bypass this protective lockdown and they do it in a logarithmic or gradual manner so that the protective movement sensors in the spine don’t lock down the muscles and ligaments, thereby allowing the stretch to be exerted onto the discs. Without the log curve you could tie two trucks to a patient and you wouldn’t be stretching the discs you would be stretching the ligaments and muscles that locked down to protect the discs from the potentially injurious movement the proprioceptors sensed when they perceived the movement. There are much more effective and newer more modern and advanced ways to bypass this lockdown phase and reposition the discs then the older DRX technology.

What you are really saying is you want your back pain gone as soon as possible and you think the DRX is the best way to get it gone, right? If there was a better piece of technology available would you want to know about it?

I provide this information only because I trully value Spinal Decompression and I know that there is allot of misinformation about the procedure.
The machine works but please understand that there are other machines out there that can do the same thing and can also do it better.

I can not believe the misinformation out there about spinal decompression.
Every Smuck Chiropractor out there is buying a table now expecting to get rich quick.
I did not get into Spinal Decompression to get rich, It was out genuine necesity. I had numerous patients with herniated discs and Sciatica that just didn't get better and people would leave and go get injections or worse have a surgery that did not work.
So I invested some serious dollars and mostly allot of time to really understand the treatment and the industry of Spinal decompression. Lets start with the big boys Axiom the manufacture of The DRX 9000, They claim superiority and battle with Vax-d and Spine Med and all the other players like Accu-Spina And the Lordex table, In Manhattan there are several doctors utulizing difefrent tables.
I have worked with every table out there and I tell my collegues in the market shopping for a table that I really doesn't matter and I tell patients that most of the stuff they read is Fluff.
The FDA classifies all the tables the same. Visit my website at and read more.
If you are in Manhattan and are considering Spinal Decompression be aware of the doctors intentions , I only treat people I know will respond.

With all the confusion about the Non Surgical Spinal Decompression out there I wanted to give an honest answer to both patients considering this treatment and practioners considering investing money into this new technology.
Does Spinal Decompression work? Yes! it does help patient suffering with herniated discs and sciatica and stenosis.

Is it a miracle like some of these advertisements I see in newspapers? This is a treatment is just that a treatment not a panacea.
I have doctors calling me ready to take a mortgage on their house to by a DRX 9000 and hoping it will solve all their finiancial problems and cure all the patients with herniated discs.
This table and many others like it do have a high success rate(86% to be exact) but they dont work on all patients.
I warn patients that are seeing doctors that have a spinal decompression unit to consult make sure a thorough exam is conducted along with review of any diagnostic test like a MRI before considering starting treatment. Visit
Also be sure that the doctor is not just starting you to meet the expensive lease payment on the table make sure you are a candiadate.

I would like to talk a little about all the controversy about a technique called Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression and all the A.K.A's like but not limited to {DRX 9000, IDD therapy, Vax-D Treatment, LCD Therapy}.All these treatment bascally do the same thing and that is unload or decompress the spine to influence change within the intervertbral disc to rehydrate and make permanent corrective changes to the quality of the Disc tissue.
I believe that I am one of only a few doctors that practice in New York that offer this fantastic treatment that is honest about the treatment.
This was recently brought to my attention because several patients see ads for this FDA approved treatment (which it is) that was discovered or invented by N.A.S.A ( which it is not) and want to know if it some kind of marketing scam or a god's honest miracle.

Spinal Decompression is a succesful treatment for Herniated Discs, Sciaitaca, Stenosis and other commonly hard to treat back or neck related conditions.
This treatment has a high success rate 86%, without risks of surgery and offers a correction of tissue quality and integrity. This treatment must be followed exactly and must include Co-care with Supplemention with( Omega 3-6, Calcium Magnessium,Boswellia, and others, and A Complete post treatment Muscular rehabaliative protocol.
This treatment works but it does require patient participation, If a patient is obese and a smoker and does not drink water and has had a prior surgery these patients will not see optimal results. I will add more with my future blogs. Visit mty website at

T.G.I.F., this past week was extremely busy! So many patients are inquiring about the Spinal decompression treatment. The most commonly asked questions are, What is the diffrence between the DRX 9000 and the other Decompression tables? and Why doesn't my insurance cover this? First I want to answer the DRX 9000 issue, This is just one table of the many tables that has an FDA approval. I recommend patients look into the FDA status and they will see that the DRX 9000 is not the only table out there and there are some tables that are newer and they take up less space in the doctors office.
Most insurance companies do not pay for Spinal Decompression therapy because it is failry new and just like Lasik eye surgery it may take several years for them to recognize the values of spinal decompression and how it can save millions of dollars per year.
I recently learned that Cananda now requires patients with herniated discs to complete a series of Spinal decompression prior to reffering a patient to a neuro-surgeon for a surgical consult.

I was watching late night Television last night and the was a program on called Back Pain breakthrough. This was a infomercial for Vax-D treatment, This Treatment is effective to treat hernaited discs and buldging disc and stenosis, but what I do not like about Vax-D treatment is the technology is dated and the technique requires the patient to lie on their stomach and it also can cause shoulder injury.
I prefer the patient to be on their back and I use a newer table that allows me to treat the patient in a three dimensional enviorment. I also hear allot about DRX 9000 and how they claim superioty but I still mantain that most new Spinal Decompression tables essentialy do the same thing that is decompress the spine and allow the Disc tissue to mend itself and repair the disc herniation. Visit for more information on how this technique can help you.

Monday my Article came out on the interent about spinal decompression and disc rehab, I have had an amazing response. I have doctors from across the country calling me about this procedure and I have allot of people contacting me about this procedure. What seems to have really worked for me is to be up front and honest about the procedure. These days people are bright, by telling them that NASA invented this technique it is demeaning. The doctors that advertise this are now being sued by NASA! Spinal decompression is the best thing to do if you have a herniated disc or bulging disc. I learned a interesting fact yesterday, that in Canada before the insurance will pay for a back surgery for herniated disc they want to see that you completed 20 sessions of spinal decompression! Do i think that this would happen here? I hope so but there is way to much money at risk for the orthopedic doctors and hospitals and surgeons at risk. Cananda is progressive and I feel that once the long term studies and govermental cost savings are published it will be a push for United States to do the same.
Costs righ now are absorbed by the patient, A typical program cost 3-4 thoushand.

Manhattan Spinal Decompression Specialist.
A day doesn't go by without one or two doctors across the country calling me and inquiring about Spinal decompression or the DRX 9000. I like to share information and I tell everyone the same thing. This treatment works it gets people that are suffering with herniated disc and stenosis ands Sciatica out of pain quick, with no drugs or surgery and it corrects the weakened disc and allows the tissue to strengthen and prevents reinjury.
All the doctors ask is the DRX 9000 the best machine, and I no not necessarily but they have done a great job branding themselves and patients do ask about this specific table. I spoke with a Chiropractor that bought one used and found that Axiom did not service his table and it was a problem and thet did not even return his calls. I know that if I buy a used car ie: a Mercedes I take it to any dealership if I pay they will service it and sell me parts if I need them. This is not the case with Axiom they only want to sell to there original customers and that's it. In my opinion poor business model.
So DRX 9000 is not the only table or only true spinal decompression system, to think that way would be naive. I have had great results with tables that where a quarter of the price! If you are patient and looking for a doctor to do spinal decompression make sure they are proficient in the technique and have an open mind about other treatments like synaptic nerve blocks and cold laser therapy.

manhattan spinal decompression specialist. There are about 5-7 new doctors practicing this technique in Manhattan now. Some of these doctors use the DRX 9000 some use the anatalgic-trac.In is my proffesional opinion that all the tables basically do the same thing that is decompress the disc and unload the vertabrae. As a Chiropractor that has been practicing for over ten years now I have seen some things come and some things go, but this technique is here to stay and in my opinion will be the preffered treatment for herniated disc. If you or a loved one has a herniated disc please consider spinal decompression as a treatment before a more invasive technique like surgery. Spinal decompression does not hurt and the results are extremly high. Visit for more information on how this procedure works.

New York Chiropractor,Spinal Decompression
I have been using Spinal Decompression on my disc herniation patients and getting excellent results. Now it seems that every other doctor has jumped on the spinal decompression band wagon, especially in the Manhattan area. As a doctor that does spinal decompression we take on a tremoundous amount of debt by purchasing a expensive table and spending money on advertising. Not every patient that walks through your will qualify for this procedure, some may not have thier finances in order. I only take patients that I know will see excellent results with. When someone forks over their hard earned money you better show results. Spinal decompression can really effectively treat herniated discs, spinla stenosis and Sciatica. If you are looking for doctors that specialize in Spinal decompression in Manhattan, New York I recommend you visit which is a website of doctors comminted to Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression.

I read the AM paper which is a local newspaper in Manhattan New York. I saw four different ads advertising Spinal Decompression therapy. Most of these ads in my opinion insult the readers intelligence by making claims that this is a NASA endorsed treatment. This treatment is extremelly succesful in relieving pain from herniated discs and spinal stenosis. NASA does not endorse this treatment nor did they invent it! The way this goes is the astronauts went into space and came back with more disc space but they actually had back pain due to muscle wasting. I do not claim that treatment is a NASA discovery but I have patients understand the benefits and try to present them with as much information as possible so they can make an educated and informed decesion. I also have allot of inquires into the DRX 9000 machine and I let everyone know that it is just one machine and most all of the machines work because I have worked with all of them at one point.

New York Chiropractor, Spinal Decompression
June 5th. Wow time flys when your having fun!
I made a decision I am dropping out of GHI insurance and then I will drop out of health Net.
I am sure most of you are wondering why? These insurance companies devalue chiropractor care especially in New York State. Theses insurance companies pay less than thirty dollars a visit. It costs me more to try to get paid from them.
My practice has evolved into Spinal decompression and emphasis in treating disc herniation patients that are willing to pay for their care out of pocket. In this market of diminishing chiropractor reimbursement this is welcomed.
If you know anyone suffering from sciatica or herniated discs, spinal decompression treatment is the best option and should be considered in place of surgery. DRX 9000 or any other FDA approved machine would work just fine as long as the spine is being decompressed.
Look out for my article being published in Mens Health and possibly a radio interview on Sirius satellite radio.

Spinal Decompression has really changed the way I treat patients with herniated discs and degenerativie disc disease. Previous to having this treatment patients would leave and go to a orthopedist and sometimes get injections or drugs that did not solve the problem. Now I have doctors refering me their most challenging cases and getting excellent results.
Many patients ask about the DRX 9000 or the spine med table, I tell all my patients that the FDA approved all of these tables and put them in the same class. In my opnion I get excellent results with any table as long as it is FDA approved. I see fantastic results with someon that has a herniated disc in the lumbar spine or cervical spine.

Welcome back everyone, Yesterday was a busy day. I started about seven new patients and one new spinal disc decompression patient. The day after a holiday is usually the busiest. I attribute it to all the people that never do things and all off a sudden it is nice out. I had one young women that went kayacking and had rellay races all day. Not only was she sunburned both both of her shoulders and upper back where locked up. I did some gentle spinal manipulation and range of motion with her shoulders and iced her down and she felt much better. I guess the point I am trying to make is before geting to involved in recreational activity make sure you are thoroughly streched out and wearing sunblock.
Patients that have herniated discs are usaully in allot of pain and have been to every doctor and has taken every drug on the market. Spinal decompression has been the answer for allot of these patients and best of all it is non-surgical non-drug and the results are permanent.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me

I want to gripe about the stuff I get in the mail from Ben alltadona.
I get bombarded with mail from this guy claiming that the DRX 9000 is the only true spinal decompression unit out that and everything else is junk. This is untrue, I have been using diffrent spinal decompression units for sometime now, and I can honestly say that they all do the same thing. If his table is the best I wonder why therer are so many on Ebay!

I want to clear the air about spinal Disc decompression, I have been doing this for the last 4 months and I have been impressed with the results and patients that normally did not respond with traditional Chiropractic care responded great with the Disc Decompression protocol. It is not a pancae and it is not the a miracle like some doctors claim it to be.It is a procedure and no table is superior than any other, some tables may have some bells and whistles that look flashy, but they are some diffrences in prices. I have seen great responses with inexpensive tables.

I have noticed that one of the reasons Chiropractic has not gotten as far as it should of have by now is that Chiropractors are their own worst enemies.
I say that because I recently had a Chiropractor here in New York attack an article that was written by someone about there success with treatment. The patient happened to be a child that was reffered in by a ENT and was having horrible ear infections. I am a Chiropractor and the only thing that I treat is Spinal misalignment. The patient had a horrible misalignment of the upper cervical spine and when adjusted the ear infections got beter, did I treat the child for ear infections? No! I only treat spinal misalignments. Why would another Chiropractor do this? I think it has allot to do with jealously and plain stupidity.

Spinal Decompression is the hottest treatment right now. I want to clear up a couple of things right away. Some Chiropractors around the country and right here in New York are claiming that this was a NASA discovered technology and it is the eight wonder of the world. I find this very decepitive and also insulting to prospective clients intelligence. First let me clear up the idea that NASA discovered this, NASA did not discover spinal decompression technolgy nor do they endorse the use of name. When astoutrants returned from space travel there disc spaces where increased. But think about it why would they let someone into the space program with back pain? What was discovered was that astronauts lost muscle mass too.
Disc Decompression is not a table, DRX 9000 does not hold any patent to the technique despite the fancy marketing that states they offer "true spinal decompression". It is a procedure that works be creating a negative pressure in the disc space and allow the tissue to heal.
Before going with a doctor and spending your hard earned money make sure that what you are paying for is not his or her overpriced machine payment.
Please visit for all your Chiropractic needs in New York and if you are seriously considering spinal disc decompression visit for a list of qualified specialist in spinal decompression.

I have been having huge influx of people suffering from herniated discs, and I love the results that i have been getting on my patients in such a short time. One of the main reasons I started with the Disc decompression was that some patients did not respond that well to traditional Chiropractic care. I work in New York City and as a Chiropracor in Manhattan I see so many people from many diffrent walks of life, I wanted to help everyone and the decompression therapy allows me the opportunity to help those with Disc herniations that was unable to help in the past.

Ok I have to talk a bit about all the Ads that i see in the papers lately about spinal decompression. Allot of doctors that market this therapy are marketing it as a pancea and an alternative to surgery, Some of these doctors ( I am not naming them) are claiming that astrounauts stop having pain after space travel and NASA endorses this therapy. This is all phony marketing tactics, I do not want to insult the intelligence of any potential patients, and I realize people do their homework especially when shelling out $3,500 for treatment. First of all they (NASA) would never let a astrounaut into the space program (think about that!) with back pain, so those claims are totally false. It is true that a negative atomposhere will increase disc height. I use decompression therapy everday in my practice and established the premire group of physcians dedicated to Spinal decompression in the New York metropolitian area, but I want to use ethics and facts not deception and cheesy marketing tatics. Spinal Decompression therapy is an amazing alernative to surgery and has helped many patients regain there life. If you are interested in true spinal decompression please consider our group at
