One of the main reasons people suffer with low back pain and
Sciatica is a “Pinched Nerve” in the low back. Pinched nerves are usually the
result of a herniated or bulging disc in the lumbar spine at L5-S1.
When a nerve has pressure on it your body will let you know,
in fact a study conducted on nerve pressure revealed that the weight of a
postage stamp cut nerve signal down by 50%.
The Sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body and allot
of structures can put pressure on this sensitive nerve a partial list of things
that can cause irritation to the Sciatic nerve include bulging or herniated
discs, spinal stenosis, disc
degeneration and sometimes even muscles.
One common muscle that affects the Sciatic nerve is the
Piriformis muscles it is a triangular shaped muscle in your buttocks region and
when this muscle shortens or tightens it can produce a condition called “Piriformis
syndrome” symptoms can include low back pain, numbness and or tingling down into
the buttocks or legs, muscle stiffness and or spasms that get worse with time.
If you think you have a pinched nerve the most important
thing is to get a proper diagnosis and start the most conservative treatment. What
makes our office unique is that we have a Doctor of Osteopathy, Chiropractor, Physical
therapist and a Massage therapist working together to understand what is
causing your problem and coming up with a effective treatment plan to not only
eliminate your symptoms but correct the cause.
Spinal decompression using the DRX 9000 has been a treatment

countless patients. The DRX 9000 is designed to treat the nerve compression due
to bulging or herniated discs.
