Deep tissue Laser Therapy

Deep Tissue Laser Therapy

Today I wanted to update my NYC Chiropractor blog with how I integrate different modalities into my practice. I started up a new patient this morning that went skiing  this past weekend and fell.
He stated that he fell hard but shook it off and continued to ski for a couple more hours and then the Pain set in.
The Pain was so bad that he went to a local NY hospital, They evaluated and took X rays and said he was fine but was still hurting so he sought out the treatment of a Chiropractor.

I was able to evaluate how poor his range of motion was in his cervical spine (neck) specifically his lower neck, We took spinal X rays (the Hospital only took a PA chest to rule out a Pneumothorax)
His Radio-graphic findings revealed a noticeable spinal misalignment at his 7th Cervical.
We started his treatment with moist heat and  Pre-Modulated  stimulation.
Once he was all warmed up and loose I did some gentle Cox Cervical distraction of his neck followed by a modified diversified adjustment of his lower cervical spine.
His range of motion improved but I needed to addresses the  soft tissue (Muscle,Fascia) so I utilized some IASTM using the Graston technique and followed up with Deep Tissue Laser Therapy.

So what is Deep Tissue Laser Therapy?

This form of Laser therapy is a scientifically proven way to reduce pain and inflammation.
DLLT allows for deeper tissue penetration, resulting in fast, efficient and consistent results.
Laser Therapy generated a photo-chemical response in damaged tissue by a process called photobiomodulation. This process stimulates healing on a cellular level by enabling cells to more rapidly produce energy.
I am wrapped up his treatment by using Kinesology tape specifically Rock tape to help relieve the swelling through decompression of the skin which speeds recovery and helps support proper posture and form.
